Ministry Of Industry-1
           There are two departments and six enterprises under the Ministry cal Industry - I , which are producing basic necessities for the people thus taking part in the develop- of Myanmar Economy as other sectors are doing.

There are six industries taking direct responsibility for the production of `foods as mentioned under.
(a) Myanmar Textile Industries
(b) Myanmar Foodstuff Industries
(c) Myanmar Pharmaceutical Industries
(d) Myanmar Ceramic Industries
(e) Myanmar General and Maintenance Industries
(f) Myanmar Paper and Chemical Industries
           Under Myanmar Textile Industries, there are Textile Mill, Textile Mills and Finishing Plants, Dyeing and Printing Factory, Garment Factories. Blanket tory. Towel Factories and Sewing Thread Factories established all over the country.
           The Ministry of Industry-1 has arranged the possibilities for its enterplrises and external businessmen in order to participate in the fields of cooperation as follows:


(a) Joint Venture Business
           Total investment of these 1O JV companies amounts to Kyats 708.48 millions including US$ 14.62 millions in the form of foreion currency.
(b)The Status of Buy Back System
           Out of the industries of Ministry of Industry (I ), 3 factories under Myanmar ,lle Industries, Myanmar Foodstuff Industries, Myanmar Phanmaceautical Industries, Myanmar General and Maintenance Industries and Myanmar Paper and Chimed Industries cooperate with local and foreign entrepreneurs and departments in ,rider to efficiently utilize the surplus capacity of machines of the enterprises without infecting the present production.
